The Second Armenian Street Festival Another Report sent by A Bobikian

29th July 2012, Gets well on its way, it is a much lager quadrangle this year. The stallholder’s were selling all manner of wears from books, paintings, needlecraft, and clothing to traditional ‘Armenian Cuisine.’

The move for a street festival [A brain child of our newly inaugurated Bishop His Grace Vahan Hovhannessian], the Bishop’s dedicated groups support the Armenian Church in every way possible.

Amid the crowds are the dignitaries and honored guests, who have also made it possible for the event to take place to which they too can take merit… Baroness Caroline Cox, writer and a champion for Nations who have suffered genocide, was also present.

Armenian Music and dance was enjoyed by all in many a form, singing to playing the church organ.

The festival sets out to promote contact and unity with in the Armenians of the diaspora and throughout the United Kingdom and Ireland.

In the report we see The Armenian President Serge Sarkissian, participating in talks and mingle with the crowd, culminating in lighting a candle and prayed in the church.

Notably, the Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea looked delighted to have been invited; he stated that St Sarkis Church and the Armenians have been present in Iverna Gardens for 90 years.

The Bishop closed his address by mentioning the Armenian Olympic team, who were given the church hall for the duration. He added I wished them success in achieving their goals, and taking Gold Medals in their events.

Karen Krikorian, ends his report by holding three balloons in the colours of the Armenian Flag, his patriotism is noted.
