Visa Free Travel: Rankings of British and Armenian Passports
British Armenian News
LONDON (02.10.2013) -- According to a recent report from a major London-based consulting firm, Henley and Partners, the British passport is among the most desirable (along with Finland and Sweden) in the world when it comes to travel, with a score of 173. Armenia was tied for 55th place with Benin, Cote d'Ivoire and Mauritania.
Henley and Partners' global index for 2013 ranks countries based on their citizens’ freedom of travel. An index score of 173 (ranked No. 1) means that a UK passport holder, for example, may enter 173 countries and territories without a visa. The score then determines the rank that a country occupies within the index. In comparison, an Armenian passport holder can travel to only 55 countries without a visa. Armenia is ranked 72 out of 93 countries.
This global ranking reflects the international freedom of travel for the passport holders of various nations, as well as the international relations and status of individual countries relative to others.
Pakistan, Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan remain in the bottom four places of the ranking, which means that citizens of these countries enjoy the least freedom of travel.
