BEIRUT - (June 20, 2017) An estimated 170 speakers, delegates and guests, including nine Members of Parliament from four countries, an advisor to the President of Lebanon, representatives of Aramaic, Armenian, Assyrian, Hamshin, Kurd, Pontic Greek, Syriac, Yezidi, and Zaza parties, associations and NGOs gathered for a three-day (June 17-19) forum to form an organization which will push for democracy, justice, the rule of law, respect for human rights and cultural heritage in Turkey—the homeland of the above groups.

While many Armenians know that the Armenian Quarter in Jerusalem’s Old City covers one-sixth of the city, many Armenians, including even some living in Jerusalem, don’t know the many Armenian-related facts which make our presence in the Holy City so significant.

Կարօ Վարդանեան վաւերական լրագրող մըն է, Գրականության և արուեստի թանգարանի տնօրէնը, որ կը ստուգէ իւրաքանչիւր տեղեկութեան աղբիւրը, հաւաստիութիւնը եւ գիտէ առասպելը անջատել իրականութենէն, որովհետեւ հապշտապ կերպով չէ արտադրած իր վէպը, այլ տարիներու ընթացքին ուսումնասիրած է ՀԱՀԳԲ-ը եւ յարակից դէպքերը, որոնք ծնունդ տուին յետ ցեղասպանութեան տարիներուն սփիւռքի մէջ աննախադէպ շարժումի մը, որ տակն ու վրայ ըրաւ հայ դասական կուսակցութիւններու ղեկավարութեան հաշտուողական մօտեցումները հայ դատի առնչութեամբ։ Բանակին նպատակը հայ կուսակցութիւնները հարուածելը չէր, այլ Թուրքիան պատմութեան դատաստանին առջեւ բերելու ազդու փորձ մը, ինչպէս նաեւ աշխարհի խուլ ականջներուն կամ անտեղեակ մարդկութեան լսելի դարձնելու մեր արդար պահանջատիրութիւնը։

TORONTO—(June 8, 2017) Armenian Jerusalem faces many serious challenges, said Dr. Minas Kojayan at a gathering here attended by a wide-cross section of Toronto Armenians. The speaker has spent most of the past two years in Jerusalem as editor-in-chief of the Patriarchate’s “SION” journal and as teacher at the seminary and the Sts. Tarkmanchats High School.
A resident of Los Angeles, Armenologist, veteran teacher, and former editor of
Keghart.com, Dr. Kojayan raised concerns about the future of the community unless the Armenian nation steps in to support the precious, 1,500-year Armenian presence in the Holy City. While Armenians are justly proud that the Armenian Quarter makes up one-sixth of the Old City of Jerusalem, most Armenians are unaware of the plight of the Armenian community, said Dr. Kojayan.
