Fan holding Karabakh flag invades pitch during Arsenal vs. Qarabag clash (PHOTOS)
A fan holding the national flag of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) and wearing a T-shirt with the image of national hero of Armenia and Artsakh and military commander, the late Monte Melkonian, invaded the pitch at the Emirates Stadium of Arsenal, during their last UEFA Europa League group-stage match against Qarabag FK (Azerbaijan).But security personnel immediately took him off the pitch.
The Azerbaijani team lost in London by a score of 0-1.
Arsenal midfielder and Armenia national squad captain Henrikh Mkhitaryan, however, did not play in this game.
The Gunners have placed first in Group E and advanced to the round of 32.
Qarabag, on the other hand, did not make it to the next round.
