What's in a Motto?

Mek Azg, Mek Mshakouyt is a transliteration of the Armenian national motto, and is usually translated into English as One Nation, One Culture. A friend of mine came across a reference in a Google search to this, purportedly listed in the Armenian search thread on You Tube (some interesting stuff here), which stated 'Armenia is becoming the fascist state of the 21st century. Armenian National motto: One Nation, One Culture'.

In a so-called multicultural world, do these words provoke political incorrectness or are they just an evocation of national identity in the same, but perhaps less informal, way that, say, Uncle Sam is for the United States?

:-) Answers on a postcard please...
