Letter from the registered charity, Aid Armenia

An open letter to the British public and the Armenian community of Great Britain,

Aid Armenia (Charity registration number 800627) was set up in London in 1988 with the

participation of ALL Armenian organizations active at the time, in order to raise funds and

assist in rebuilding Armenia after the devastating earthquake of December 1988. We have

been doing so very successfully for the past 20 years.

Last summer Ms Zepyur Batikian contacted Aid Armenia on behalf of Mr John Aidiniantz of

London, suggesting that with their help Aid Armenia become more active and offered to raise

funds jointly for projects in Armenia. After consultations Aid Armenia Charity replied saying

that as a charity and bound by the Charity Commission regulations in the UK, any funds

collected in our name should be paid directly to the AA accounts and spent on projects as per

the Charter of Aid Armenia.

Recently an organization entitled Aid Armenia International Limited has been set up, with Zepyur

Batikian and Grace Aidiniantz as Directors, which is distributing the DVD of the documentary

“Out of the Ruins”, paid and made for Aid Armenia Charity, asking the public to raise funds for

Aid Armenia International Limited.

The company has also established a website with the address of www.AidArmenia.com, using

exactly the same type of script as our logo.

Please note that the company entitled Aid Armenia International Ltd or their website has no

connection and affiliation with the Aid Armenia Charity established in 1988 under the Charity

Commission regulations in the UK and is acting purely on their own initiative and aim. The

actions of Aid Armenia International Limited, charitable or otherwise, have no connection with

our charity and Aid Armenia Charity is not responsible for any of the actions of the company

Aid Armenia International Ltd.
