PRINCE CHARLES TO VISIT THE ARMENIAN CHURCH
The Office of His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Prince of Wales, has confirmed that His Royal Highness will ;pay a visiti to the Armenian Church in the UK by visiting the St Yeghiche Armenian Church on Wednesday, 19 November 2014. The visit is part of the recent emphasis His Royal Highness has put on raising worldwide awareness concerning the recent persecution of Christians, including Armenians, in the Middle East especially Syria and Iraq. During the year, Prince Charles visited the Syrian and Coptic Orthodox Churches as well. This will be a historic visit as it is the first time that His Royal Highness visits an Armenian Church in the UK. Because of well-known security reasons only people with invitations from the
Primate’s Office will be admitted into the ceremonies. To obtain an invitation please contact your local parish council. If you are not a dues-paying member of any parish, please contact the Primate’s Office no later than Friday 14 November. No admission without the invitation card and a Photo ID.

BISHOP VAHAN PRIMATE-ELECT OF THE DIOCESE OF FRANCE
Last Saturday, 1 November 2014, the Diocesan Assembly of the Armenian Church of France elected His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian, as the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Church of France with a majority vote (38/44). As the Primate-Elect of the Armenian Diocese of France, Bishop Vahan will preside over the General Assembly of the Diocese which is scheduled to convene in Lyon on Saturday, 6 December. The following day, Sunday, 7 December His Grace celebrate his first Badarak as Primate in St John the Baptist Cathedral in Paris (15, rue Jean- Goujon, 75008 Paris, Tél : +33143596703). Meanwhile, as the elected Primate of UK, Bp Vahan will continue his duties as the Primate of the UK and Ireland until the election results in France are ratified by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of all Armenians and a new Primate for the UK and Ireland is elected or appointed. FAREWELL BADARAK IN MANCHESTER & RECEPTION IN LONDON
Last Sunday was an emotional day for the Armenians in Manchester. It was the final Badarak of Fr Garegin Hambardzumyan as their visiting Pastor. Fr Garegin celebrated Badarak and offered his final homily, sometimes with difficulty resisting his tears. The congregation was then invited to a reception in the Armenian Taverna Restaurant. The crowd packing the restaurant welcomed Fr Garegin with a standing ovation. To his surprise, Bishop Vahan and altar servers, Alex Adamov and Nairi Afrikyan were there to join in the celebration. Mr Tatto Couligian, Chairman of Trust and Mr Hagop Yeramian, Chairman of Wardens, expressed their thanks and best wishes to Fr Garegin with brief speeches and a gift as a token of their appreciation. Several speeches followed by the faithful greeting and thanking Fr Garegin. Meanwhile, he Primate’s Office is happy to organize a farewell luncheon reception for Fr Garegin on Sunday, 16 November, 14:00-16:00hrs in Tara Hotel, Kensington: £25 checque payable to The Armenian Church Trust UK to ‘the Primate’s Office’ no later than 13 November. BISHOP VAHAN KNIGHT OF MILITARY AND HOSPITALLER ORDER
The ceremonies started Friday evening in St Sarkis Church at 6:00pm with the traditional vigil of the Knights of Military and Hospitaller Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem. Members of the order gathered from all over Europe and joined the Armenian faithful in the night vigil in preparation for the investiture ceremonies which took place the following day. Following the Vigil, guests were invited to a dinner with the members of the Order in the Library Room of the Traveller’s Club, during which several speecdhes highlights the important role that Armenian monks played in finding and strengthening the Order of St Lazarus of Jerusalem. Saturday morning, the ceremonies started with a traditional Armenian Morning Service followed by the investiture ceremonies, during which Bp Vahan was granted the honor of Ecclesiastical Commander of the Order. BADARAK AND ARMENIAN FELLOWSHIP HOUR IN OXFORD
The Parish Council of the Armenian Mission Parish in Oxford warmly welcome Armenians and their friends to join the Oxford Armenian parishioners on Wednesday, 19 November at 6:30pm, for the celebration of the traditional Armenian Orthodox Divine Liturgy (Badarak). The Very Revd Dr Garegin Hambardzumyan will celebrate the Divine Liturgy which will take place at the beautiful Pembroke College Chapel, presided over by His Grace Bishop Vahan Hovhanessian, Primate. The service, as always, will be followed by a fellowship hour at the Mary Hyde Eccles room. The Armenian Church Mission Parish was founded a year or so ago in Oxford mainly to the efforts and pastoral care of Fr Garegin Hambardzumyan. As in the previous two years, the Appeal is the one and only fundraising campaign that the Primate’s Office does to raise funds desperately needed for the various programmes of our Church in UK and Ireland (click here). Annual pilgrimages, the Armenian Street Festival, Bible Study sessions, the Armenian Church Youth Fellowship (ACYF), Mission Parish Outreach, Educational Ministry and the publications of this E-Newsletter and the weekly Sunday bulletin are all funded by ACTUK.
