THE WORLD HAS NO DOUBT

Yesterday President ROBERT KOCHARYAN re-confirmed official Yerevan's attitude towards achieving the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide and welcomed the decision of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives.

'We believe that the recognition of Genocide will receive a final formulation in the United States. The great number of communications we have with different countries' officials prove one thing: there is no doubt about what happened in 1915,' R. Kocharyan said.

As to the situation that some countries do not recognize the fact of the Armenian Genocide, R. Kocharyan accounted for it by the intention of not deteriorating their relations with Turkey.

`Turkeyhas adopted a denial attitude with regard to this issue, but it doesn't mean that the country can impose such denial policy on other countries as well,' R. Kocharyan said.

As regards the deterioration of the Armenian-Turkish relations as a result of the adoption of Resolution H106, R. Kocharyan reminded that it is impossible to deteriorate something that doesn't exist.`There must be a certain level of relations to allow for the deterioration of something; today there are simply no relations between Armenia and Turkey,' he underscored.
