Armenian Jewellery Designer at Liberty Department Store

Dear Friends,
This is a bit last minute, but I wanted to let you know about  a very well
known Armenian jewellery designer , Arman Sarkisyan from Los Angeles, who is
going to be at Liberty Department Store tomorrow from 11am - 7 pm.  Liberty
is hosting him as part of their Meet the Designers series.

Arman is an award-winning jeweller and his pieces have been worn by
celebrities such as Nicole Kidman, Gywneth Paltrow, Sienna Miller, Uma
Thurman and Katherine Heigl.  His unique pieces combine Armenian, Byzantine
and Gothic design elements.

An Old-world Jeweller Steps into the New World.



Arman Sarkisyan is not your typical jeweller, a throwback to a time of old
world jewellery-making, his methods are as ornate and intricate as each of
his pieces. Inspired by his travels, art, as well as mystical and spiritual
elements, many of his designs are a blend of the Gothic and Byzantine eras
combined with modern influences.  Working with rich 22K gold and oxidized
silver, as well as precious and semi-precious stones, Arman's charms,
earrings, rings and bracelets are old-school classics with a unique and
innovative design.



Hailing from Armenia, Arman is from a long line of Armenian jewellers. He
began his jeweller apprenticeship at the age of twelve under the tutelage of
his father, whose career in goldsmithing and jewellery design spanned fifty
years, earning him notoriety in Armenia and Russia.  During this time, Arman
learned traditional craftsmanship and came to develop a complex process in
jewellery-making, combining techniques from yesteryear, like hand-engraving,
as well as new innovations. In 1990, Arman moved the family business to Los
Angeles and furthered his education in art and architecture. In late 2006 he
unveiled his eponymous line, Arman, to outstanding praise and reviews in the
fashion industry.



Arman's artistic inspiration and training gave him the distinction of
creating each piece from the conception of design all the way to its birth,
an exceptional and precious skill he attributes to his mentor, an expertise,
that he says is 'simply in the blood'.
