Syrians, Armenians, Cubans Can’t Buy Turkish Estate, Sabah Says
By Ercan Ersoy - Jul 27, 2012 9:41 AM GMT+0100

Citizens from Syria, Armenia, North Korea, Nigeria, Cuba and Yemen
won’t be allowed to buy property in Turkey even after the government
eased restrictions on foreigners’ property ownership, Sabah said.

The government will allow citizens of 129 nations to buy property
unconditionally while those from 52 others will have limited access to the
real estate market, the Istanbul-based newspaper reported, citing a draft
cabinet decree pending the government’s approval. Easing the restrictions
may bring in $300 billion of foreign capital in 10 years, the newspaper
said.

The government in May abolished a so-called reciprocity rule that barred
Turkish property purchases by citizens of countries where Turks can’t buy
real estate. The cabinet decree will enforce that law, Sabah said.

Citizens from China, Denmark, East Timor, Fiji and Israel will be able to
buy one residential property and a Jordanian citizen two residential
properties
or one commercial, Sabah said.  Citizens of countries bordering the Black
Sea
including Russia and Ukraine may buy property in Turkey except on that
coastline, the newspaper said.

THERE ARE ONLY FEW PARALLELS BETWEEN NORTHERN IRELAND
AND NAGORNO-KARABAKH - UK AMBASSADOR TO AZERBAIJAN

BAKU. - Great Britain supports the OSCE Minsk Group's activities
toward a peaceful settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, United
Kingdom Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Peter Bateman, told 1news.az News
Agency of Azerbaijan.

He noted that Great Britain is not a major player in the settlement
process of the Karabakh conflict, and that the OSCE Minsk
Group-specifically its three Co-Chairing countries (France, US,
Russia)-deals with this matter.

"We, together with our European partners, stand ready to jointly do
everything possible to help them in the peaceful settlement," he said.

The Ambassador added that the problems in Northern Ireland came about
from circumstances which were somewhat different than the problems
in Nagorno-Karabakh.

"I believe there are only few parallels between the Northern Ireland
peace process and Nagorno-Karabakh. There are some lessons which
learned from our own experience and which, at the end of the day,
could be linked with any conflict. First and foremost, this is the
process of reconciliation between the formerly-conflicting layers of
the population," the UK Ambassador to Azerbaijan said.

GREAT BRITAIN SUPPORTS NAGORNO-KARABAKH CONFLICT
PEACEFUL SETTLEMENT WITHIN MINSK GROUP FORMAT
ARMENPRESS
27 July, 2012
YEREVAN

YEREVAN, JULY 27, ARMENPRESS: Great Britain is assisting the peaceful
regulation of Nagorno Karabakh issue within the framework of OSCE Minsk
Group operations. British Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
to Azerbaijan Peter Bateman came forth with the statement, Armenpress
reports citing Azerbaijani mass media.

" Jointly with our European partners we are ready to step up efforts
for the peaceful settlement of the issue based on the principles
of self-determination, territorial integrity and non-use of force"
Bateman noted.

To the question how the diplomat refers to Nagorno Karabakh current
stage and whether Great Britain is for Euro Union role activation in
the process, Beteman was quoted as saying, " Great Britain is not a
key player in conflict settlement: it is OSCE Minsk Group headed by
Co-Chairing states to deal with the issue.

Referring to the application of Northern Ireland conflict sample
in the case of Nagorno Karabakh, Bateman stated Northern Ireland
conflict's emerging preconditions differ from that of NK conflict.

However, the Ambassador underscored, there are common traits
betweenthese two processes, which if necessary will be utilized in
Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement.

The People of Karabagh Must Not Be Denied The Right of
Self-Determination
Thursday, 26 July 2012 00:00
Odette Bazil, Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom
(Co-Founder and Executive Secretary
British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group)

Complaints have been presented by the Azeri Government to the
British Government for allowing an Address to be delivered by the
Speaker of the Karabagh Parliament, the Rt Hon Ashot Ghulyan MP,
on the occasion of the 20th AGM of the British-Armenian All-Party
Parliamentary Group (BAAPPG) on Monday 11th June 2012, in
Committee Room One of the House of Lords, British Parliament.

The invitation to the Speaker had been issued by the BAAPPG,
together with an application for the Speaker’s Visa to the British
Embassy in Yerevan Armenia and the event had been organised
to include it in its 20th AGM, as part of the celebrations to mark the
Twentieth Anniversary of the Founding of the Group.

It was the two questions asked by Lord Lea who - although not being
a Member of the Armenian Group, but allowed to attend the meeting,
representing the British-Turkish All-Party Parliamentary Group – that
created the unexpected opportunity for both the Karabagh Speaker
and the Armenian Ambassador Mrs Karineh Kazinian to express
their opinions and expose the facts about the conflict in Karabagh.

It is dubious and illogical that the British Government has – according
to the Azeri Paper - rejected and refuted the recognition of Karabagh’s
independence and existence when in 2009 the Rt Hon Baroness Symons,
Speaker of the House of Lords and representing the British Government,
herself was attempting to create the British-Karabagh All-Party
Parliamentary Group, confirming and recognising by her actions, the very
existence and independence of Karabagh, as no Parliamentary Group can
be created without it’s object and subject being in existence and being
independent.

It would be so just and commendable if the British Government, which
has lately declared and adopted the democratic right and process of “voting
for self- determination” by the British inhabitants of the Falkland Islands,
would extend the same courtesy and right of “voting for self-determination”
also to the people of Karabagh, who find themselves in exactly the same
situation as our valiant and courageous British compatriots in the Falkland
Islands.

Twenty years ago when the BAAPPG was founded, it was done with the
hope and conviction that the British Government and its Parliamentarians
in both Houses of the Palace of Westminster, would apply democracy,
fairness, justice and righteousness to all of their dealings with their
Guest
Countries, and even with Groups who are representing countries which,
although
maybe are not rich in natural resources, but are rich in millennia-old
culture
and the strategic and geographic location of which – if endangered and
threatened - can affect every country of the South Caucasus Region, the
International Community at large, and can even jeopardize the safe
delivery of those natural resources to their destinations.

According to the Speaker of Karabagh, the Rt Hon Ashot Ghulyan MP,
“The people of Karabagh are asking for and deserve the right of voting for
self-determination and the right of Independence, of living in Freedom,
Peace and harmony with all the peoples on this earth, especially with their
immediate neighbours with whom they share long borders and seventy
years of good neighbourly relations while at peace with each other”.

It is also a subject of deep sorrow and worries, that during the past year,
and all the more so visible during the last three months, the Azeri
government
is attacking at random and sporadically the Karabagh borders (even
infiltrating
deep into Armenian villages), killing at random and retreating, taking their
dead soldiers with them and producing it to the International Community as
an act of aggression from the Karabagh side. The Karabagh Speaker reiterated
that Karabagh has no wish for the resumption of hostilities, is not seeking
military solutions and believes that this complex situation can be solved
ONLY by means of discussions, negotiations, compromises and Peace.

ARMENIANS NOT USED TO BUY MEAT FROM REFRIGERATOR
news.am
July 27, 2012 | 15:34

YEREVAN. - Sale of meat, which is not preserved in a refrigerator,
is a violation of food safety norms, head of the State Service for
Food Safety at the Armenian Ministry of Agriculture Babken Pipoyan
told the journalists on Friday.

However, he added that control on the meat market and fines led to
no outcome. According to the sellers, consumers prefer fresh meat,
which was not preserved in a fridge. If the pavilions selling meat
with violations are not improved, consequences may turn out to be even
dangerous. They will lead to selling meat in yards and streets. As
a matter of fact, after fines and control, meat pavilions continue
violations. Pipoyan advised consumers not to buy meat from such
sellers who stand by the meat with a cigarette (and often unshaved).
