DYK: Did you know that President Lyndon Johnson rejected a restrictive covenant that sought to prevent the sale of his Washington, DC home to Armenians or other minorities.

According to The Washington Post, typically, the language of such agreements stipulated that no part of the property could be occupied by or sold to “negroes, or any person or persons of negro blood or extraction, or to any person of the Semitic Race, blood, or origin, which racial description shall be deemed to include Armenians, Jews, Hebrews, Persians and Syrians.”
