ARMENIAN INSTITUTE - JAZZ CONCERT

TAVITJAN BROTHERS

Macedonia’s finest jazz musicians

Saturday, 18 October 2008, 8 pm

Halo Bar, 317 Battersea Park Road, SW11 4LT

Tickets: £10 (£12 at the door)

The Armenian Institute is happy to welcome this exciting group making its debut in London at the prize-winning jazz club The Halo in Battersea. Coming from a family with over 50 years of music tradition, their father Garabet Tavitjian was a drummer with the most popular Macedonian pop-jazz group in the former Yugoslavia, "Leb i Sol". Years after “Leb i Sol” performed here in London in the famous Ronnie Scott's, Tavitjian Brothers are here to continue the tradition. Come and enjoy their ingenious adaptations of traditional songs from Macedonia and Armenia, a blend of ethno- and modern jazz music.

This concert is organised in association with the Krug Cultural Group and will raise funds for Leukaemia Research Fund.
