Statement on the release of Roxana Saberi from the family of Silva Harotonian‏

Thank you again for showing your support for my cousin Silva Harotonian (www.freesilva.org).

As you’ve probably seen in the news, Roxana Saberi was released from Iran’s Evin Prison today. This marks a joyous occasion for her and her family, friends and supporters. In responding to pleas for mercy, Iranian authorities suspended Roxana’s sentence and have ended her difficult ordeal.

We have sympathized with the Saberis throughout this situation and are so pleased for Roxana’s loved ones as they welcome her home.

As we celebrate Roxana’s freedom, I implore the world to please remember my cousin Silva, who is still imprisoned in Iran. Silva also is being held in Evin Prison on charges of fostering a “soft revolution.”

On behalf of Silva’s family, I respectfully and emphatically continue to ask the Iranian government to grant Silva her freedom.

We ask that you please forward this information and a link to our Web site (www.freesilva.org) to your family and friends and ask them to join in our appeal. Your help spreading the word and making others aware of Silva’s situation strengthens our collective voice. Here are three easy ways you can help spread the word:

Forward to a Friend by email Share this on Facebook Share this on Twitter

Once again, on behalf of Silva’s family, we express our deepest thanks for your support.

Klara Moradkhan
Cousin of Silva Harotonian
