The Diocese of The Armenian Church of the United Kingdom and Ireland are inviting you to a talk and a Q&A session by The Right Honourable Carolyn Cox.
Baroness Cox is a member of the British House of Lords and the founder and CEO of Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART). She was created a Life Peer in 1982 and was a deputy speaker of the House of Lords from 1985 to 2005. She was also a Baroness-in-Waiting to Queen Elizabeth II. Baroness Cox was Founder Chancellor of Bournemouth University; Chancellor of Liverpool Hope University from 2006-2013 and is an Hon. Vice President of the Royal College of Nursing. She was a founder Trustee of MERLIN Medical Emergency Relief International.
She has been extensively involved in Armenia, traveling to Artsakh, delivering humanitarian aid and helping the refugees displaced by the war. Her support of Artsakh and Armenia has been extremely valuable and important, and we are privileged to hear Baroness Cox talking about it.
Her talk, entitled ‘The Spirit of Armenia: A People who Build Beauty from the Ashes of Destruction’, will be accompanied by a series of illustrations of ways in which the Armenian people, especially in Artsakh, not only survived but endured war with amazing grace and courage, followed by rebuilding with great aesthetic accomplishment.
You will have a chance to ask questions to the Baroness after her talk, which will be followed by a drinks reception.
