Call Congressional Members to Advance Armenian Genocide Resolution‏

Dear Friends,

While the leadership of the House of Representatives failed to act on the Armenian Genocide Resolution (H.Res.252) before adjourning for the week last Friday, the Congressional schedule was extended, creating more opportunities for H.Res.252, but also more dangers that the House leadership may not bring it to the floor.

The House is due to reconvene on Tuesday, December 21st to complete the legislative business for the 111th Congress. At this pivotal moment, in addition to calling your Representative, your calls to Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi are vital to urging them to schedule a vote on H.Res.252. See below for instructions to call these two Congressional leaders.

After you have made these two calls, please visit www.anca.org to contact your Congressional Representative to request her/him to speak and vote in favor of H.Res.252's passage.

With only hours remaining before the end of this Congressional session, we must do everything we can to help secure affirmation of the Armenian Genocide by the U.S. House of Representatives. Please call Majority Leader Hoyer, Speaker Pelosi and your Representative today and urge your family and friends to do the same.

Phone Script for Majority Leader's Office - (202) 225-3130

I am calling to share my disappointment with the Majority Leader's failure so far to schedule a vote on H.Res.252, the Armenian Genocide Resolution.

The Majority Leader has had four years in office to pass this human rights measure supported by a bipartisan majority of his colleagues.

With possibly only hours before the Congress adjourns, I am more frustrated than ever by the failure of the House Democratic leadership to translate its rhetoric into results.

I urge you to immediately schedule a vote on the Armenian Genocide Resolution .
