Projects to be financed in 2013 by HAACT Great Britain a) Construction of Village Community Centre.
Project in design stage, cost: $220,000.
On 22nd November 2012, Hayastan All-Armenian Fund concluded its 15th annual Telethon announcing a total of $21,422,477 in donations and future pledges including from the UK.
As per the decision of the Fund’s Central Board of Trustees in May 2012 in Yerevan, the collected funds will be allocated to social and economic infrastructure projects in villages in Armenia and Artsakh, with emphasis on drinking water and construction of Community Centres, catering for 500-1500 residents (project costs variable).
Our proposed project will see the construction of a multi-functional building that will effectively incorporate the various social, administrative and health care institutions of a community of 500 residents.
On the ground floor of the two-storey building will be an events hall that can be used for organising various meetings, children’s activities including play groups, and special occasions, as well as a community library, a furnished health care point with a separate entrance that can provide help for medical emergencies and vaccinations, and a pharmacy. The first floor will incorporate several rooms for the community administration, several rooms for organising trainings and seminars as well as a computer lab with public access internet hub.
The overall building will also be furnished. The Centre will receive a transportation van to serve the needs of the community, be it the transportation of students or the need to take a patient to a nearby hospital.
The post completion maintenance of the facility will be undertaken by the community administration of the beneficiary village.
b) Assistance to disadvantaged school children in rural communities.
