Join us and learn TRADITIONAL ARMENIAN DANCES with TOM BOZIGIAN
Tom Bozigian, born in Fresno, California, has devoted his professional career to researching and teaching traditional Armenian dances. He spent three years in Armenia in the 1970s, studying dance at the Sayat Nova State Choreographic School and visiting rural villages to collect more information about dance. Bozigian has special expertise in dances from the pre-1915 period and has presented some of his material to institutes and ensembles throughout Armenia. His dance knowledge covers the Armenian Diaspora and new folk dances and he has been commissioned to set suites of Armenian dances for both Armenian and non-Armenian dance ensembles in various countries. He teaches weekly classes in California and travels widely giving workshops and seminars, including an annual visit to Armenia. A lively and charismatic teacher, Tom Bozigian inspires students and gives them the confidence to learn new dances.
The workshop is organised for adult learners.
