UK Director, Michael McIntyre speaks about the important work of this organisation, creating multimedia resource materials for schools and training teachers to deal sensitively with the difficult questions of history. The Armenian genocide is one of more than 30 topics addressed by the Facing History team. In its series on “Crimes against Humanity and Civilization”, the resource package on the Genocide of the Armenians includes a resource book and companion DVD, Lesson plans for teachers, documentary DVDs, posters and a map. Tonight Michael McIntyre will use excerpts from the DVDs and we follow up with a showing of the companion DVD, The Genocide Inside Me, at our monthly Film Club showing the next evening at Pushkin House.

CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP

PUPPETS AND PUPPET–MAKING

Saturday, 19 April, 1:30–4:00 pm

Maral Kerovpyan, artist, will lead a workshop on puppet–making for children (7–13 year old). The group will create puppets from a variety of materials and then use them to tell a story for a performance at the end of the session. Parents and friends are invited to enjoy the puppet show at 3:45 pm.
