Armenian News... A Topalian... Transplanting in Armenia

There are a number of initiatives organised by Armenians in the UK with the objective of developing medical practice in Armenia with the support of British practising surgeons and doctors.

Many of these are not known widely. Some aim to provide immediate improvements, others have a long term perspective such as persuading the authorities in Armenia to introduce primary care based on the NHS model.

Here is an example of the latest techniques being applied to the republic.  Please come tag least to become aware of this project and possibly to give it your support.

We are planning to have an evening at the Gulbenkian hall in Kensington on the 30th of November celebrating something I am very proud of -  the connections between the kidney transplant departments of Guys Hospital in London & Arabkir Medical Centre in Yerevan.

At the moment, one of the Armenian nephrologists is currently spending 3 months training at Guys, so this is an opportunity to tell people about more about what we have been up to, and what the plans for the future are.

I hope that we might find some people who are interested in helping to grow the project further...

I realise that for some of you, being in London might be a long shot - but please feel free to circulate to anyone who you think might be interested in coming to support!
