Foreign Ministry to continue efforts for NKR’s involvement in settlement talks

PanARMENIAN.Net - The President of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh) Bako Sahakyan visited the Republic’s Foreign Ministry Tuesday, April 2.
The President participated in the consultation focusing on the Ministry’s activity in 2012 and the 2013 action plan, with Foreign Minister Karen Mirzoyan, as well as other ministry representatives delivering relevant reports.
Mirzoyan’s report stressed key areas of the Foreign Ministry’s activity in 2012 as the political settlement of the Karabakh conflict and the international recognition of Artsakh. Noting the lack of progress in the negotiation process, the Foreign Minister emphasized that Baku’s destructive stance remains the main obstacle for the peaceful settlement of the conflict. At the same time, the Minister highlighted the positive processes on the international recognition of the NKR.
Mirzoyan noted that the efforts on the full-fledged involvement of the NKR in the negotiation process under the aegis of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship and on the presentation of unbiased information on Artsakh and the Karabakh issue to the international community will be continued in 2013. Bilateral cooperation with different countries and Armenian Diaspora will be developed further.
During the meeting, Foreign Ministry’s issues and activity were also discussed.
The President, in particular, noted that the issues of improving the working and social conditions of the Ministry's staff would remain in the focus of attention of the authorities. President Sahakyan gave relevant instructions, noting that the Ministry had generally fulfilled its tasks for the reporting period, NKR Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.
