Since 1955, Verjine Svazlian has collected the oral histories, folk literature and songs of Armenian Genocide survivors from 100 localities in Western Armenia. She has authored numerous books, bringing to light the ways in which the Genocide is expressed in Armenians' historical memory and folk culture.
