ACTION ALERT - Protest the Release of Azerbaijani Axe Murderer Ramil Safarov & ask Canada to condemn this travesty of justice
The Hungarian government extradited (released) Ramil Safarov, the unrepentant Azerbaijani soldier who murdered Armenian lieutenant Gurgen Margaryan, in his sleep with an axe, during a 2004 NATO training exercise. Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev immediately pardoned and then freed Safarov upon his arrival in Baku. Safarov has never shown any remorse or regret for his brutal crime. Upon his return, Safarov was welcomed as a hero in Azerbaijan.
The White House, the Kremlin and the OSCE Minsk Group have condemned Hungary's actions as being contrary to the interests of promoting peace in Nagorno-Karabakh.
Please take a moment to protest this miscarriage of justice by visiting www.armenian.ca and fill out both forms:
1. To the Prime Minister http://www.armenian.ca/ACCT/ActionAlert.aspx?id=65
2. To the Hungarian Ambassador to Canada http://www.armenian.ca/ACCT/ActionAlert.aspx?id=66
The window of opportunity to have Canada condemn this travesty of justice is quickly running out. We need to intensify the pressure on Canadian authorities. Please circulate this action alert to your friends and acquaintances who may have not received this message and ask them to do the same.
