USALM EBLAST Invitation to: The Armenian Woman In Self Defense During The Genocide- Sunday, July 27, 2014

You and Yours are cordially invited to a very special function on Sunday, July 27, 2014, to a tribute to Armenian Woman, " The Armenian Woman In Self Defense During The Armenian Genocide, " who played a significant role throughout the turbulent history of Armenia.

In the last decades of the nineteenth century the world history is witness to the role of women during the formation of Armenian political parties, their work in the spheres of education, distribution of political literature, clandestine activities, care of wounded and orphans, aid to prisoners and refugees and fundraising for the needs of population in crisis. Moreover, the women's militates fought alongside the men to save their homes and ancestral lands as evidenced in their heroic defense of Taron, Vaspourakan, Ourfa, Shabin-Karahisar, Musa Dagh and Hadjin.

Special guest panelists invited to this program are John Keusseyan-LT. Col. USAF (Ret.), Dr. Garabet Moumdjian-Historian and Mr. Bared Maronian-Film Producer, who will speak on the subject matter. The film " Woman of 1915 " will also be screened. Mrs. Tagouhi Arzoumanyan will be the Master of the Ceremony and Mr. Tomik Alexanian will speak on behalf of the organization.

In the cultural program, Mr. Artur Hakobyan ( MR. X ) and Mr. Tavit Samuelian will perform. Artists Salpy Kerkonian (flute) and Aram Lepejian (piano) will play instruments.

This event is organized by Ararat Foundation in cooperation with Sis Armenian Compatriotic and Cultural Union. The United Armenian Council for the Commemoration of the Armenian Genocide-Los Angeles is the event's sponsoring organization.

The event will take place on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 6:00 p.m., at St. Leon Armenian Cathedral's Kalaydjian Hall, 3325 N. Glenoaks Blvd., Burbank, CA 91504. There will be a reception during break time. Lecturers will speak in Armenian and English.

The admission is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcomed to attend. Please circulate the news and be present at this very special function.
