  • Ani Der Nishanian Good one, Rubina! Indeed. My father's grandfather was from one such family and had the insight to escape (he was, by then, on a wanted list coz he was doing what Hrant Dink did... in the late 1800s) to Cyprus. Hence my grandmother (father's mother) was born in Cyprus, in 1900, before the Genocide. There were not many families like that in Cyprus then, so these Armenian families stood out.
