CANONISATION OF THE HOLY MARTYRS OF THE 
ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
 
By order of HG Bishop Vahan, the Primate, our Diocese 
will be join Holy Echmiadzin in commemoration of the canonisation 
of 1,500,000  martyrs of the 1915 Genocide, which will take place 
in the Mother See  on Thursday April 23rd.  

At 16:15 local time (19:15 Armenian time  which symbolically marks 
the start of the Genocide), the bells of St  Sarkis and St Yeghiche 
Armenian Churches will ring 100 bells to coincide with the ringing of 
bells of the Mother Cathedral in Echmiadzin and all Armenian 
Churches all over the world. To be followed by a short  ceremony. 

Please try to assemble in St Sarkis Church by 16:00. 

The whole ceremony of the canonisation will be broadcasted live 
at St Yeghiche Armenian Church starting at 14:15.

World War 1, the Middle East, and the Place of the 
Armenian Genocide 

How did the Armenian Genocide factor into the wider picture 
of war and geopolitics in 1915? What is the significance of the 
genocide, and why should we find ways to teach it in Key 
Stage 3 history classes? In this workshop, we will share 
resources and teaching strategies to address these questions, 
and more.

24 April - St James Church, 147 Piccadilly (AGCCC)
The Sinfonietta Centenary Memorial Concert
at 19:30 
with works by renowned Armenian composers.
