Spring Remembrance Concert
In Memory of Armenian Victims of 1915 Genocide
at
The Purcell Room of Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre
Wednesday 9th of May, 7.45pm
I am delighted to invite you this year’s Spring Remembrance Concert
taking place at one of London’s finest concert venues, The Purcell Room
of Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre.
The concert program will be performed by the internationally acclaimed
British violinist Jack Liebeck. One of his first recordings with Sony features
Dvorak's Violin Concerto, Sonata and Sonatina with the Royal Scottish
National Orchestra, was critically acclaimed and achieved 'Disc of the Week'
in the Evening Standard and Telegraph newspapers. Another outstanding
recording of the complete Brahms Sonatas by Jack Liebeck and Katya
Apekisheva was released in June 2010, followed by his latest recording of a
stunning soundtrack composed by Dario Marianelli for the Jane Eyre Film
(2011).
Jack Liebeck will be accompanied by Katya Apekisheva one of Europe's
foremost pianists described by Gramophone as "A profoundly gifted artist
who has already achieved artistic greatness". There will also be performances
by The Jubilee String Quartet, 1st Prize winners of the Val Tidone International
Chamber Music Competition.
The programme includes exciting compositions by Komitas, Babajanian,
Rachmaninov, Chausson and Mendelssohn.
Please refer to the leaflet enclosed for programme details.
I look forward to welcoming you at this exciting evening of wonderful music.
Kind Rregards
